BERD researches, develops and applies state-of-the-art solutions to bridge construction methods. Founded in 2006, BERD explores the potential of OPS (Organic Prestressing System) and has a professional multi-disciplinary research & development team.
BERD’s Movable Scaffolding Systems (cast in situ) and Launching Gantries (for precast segments) with OPS are used in the construction of concrete bridges with deck lengths varying from 20 to 120 meters.
Due to its accumulated experience BERD offers the possibility of building bridges with enhanced construction quality, significant cost savings and fast construction cycles.
The German company SOFiSTiK is one of the leading European suppliers of cutting edge structural analysis software solutions. Over 1500 active customers prove the software’s applicability. Solutions range from basic 2D FE design packages to 3D bridge analysis suites. Graphical input based on AUTODESK® AutoCAD® and interactive post-processing represent state-of-the-art software technology.
A strong focus of the SOFiSTiK software is bridge engineering and design. Many major bridges have been designed using SOFiSTiK over the past 25 years, including amongst others: 2nd Panama Channel Bridge, Panama; Stonecutters Bridge, Hong-Kong as well as Queensferry Crossing in Scotland. Parametric graphical modelling allows quick preliminary design as well as comfortable structural optimization. Dedicated modules for construction stage analysis, cable-force optimization and live-load enveloping support the bridge engineer. Advanced features such as geometric and material nonlinear analysis as well as dynamics foster the applicability for pedestrian and integral bridges. The interface for Rhinoceros® strengthens the modelling options for iconic and signature bridges with complex geometry.
Design acc. to various international codes are an integral part of the SOFiSTiK program suite. Last but not least, a world-wide expert network of competence centres strives to give optimal support to users and provides tailored training and project consulting.

LUSAS Bridge software is used for cost-effective analysis, design and assessment of all bridge types – and not just multi-span large bridges. Fundamental frequency, seismic, dynamic, nonlinear, buckling, fatigue, staged construction modelling, concrete creep and shrinkage, heat of hydration, and prestress / post-tensioning can all be undertaken. Cable tuning analysis, Traffic load optimisation to AASHTO and Eurocodes; steel and composite deck design, geotechnical and soil-structure interaction analysis; and rail track-structure interaction modelling are all supported. LUSAS is being used on major bridge projects worldwide (as well as on small-scale structural integrity work). Visit our stand or see http://www.lusas.com for more details.
