INTEGRITY, RELIABILITY AND FAILURE IN DENTAL MATERIALSAND PROSTHODONTIC APPLIANCES
Dental Medicine is a medical science that includes, among other themes, a deep knowledge of dental materials and its physical and mechanical properties, in order to ensure patients the best possible treatment. It is in this area of knowledge that mechanics and materials may represent a big contribution to the evolution of dental science and, ultimately, to an improvement of oral care procedures in patients. Original work developed in the areas of Lean & Green Manufacturing can be submitted to the symposium. This is aimed at the application of Lean Thinking principles and Cradle-to-Cradle akin concepts, targeting more efficient & cleaner operations and products. The development and utilisation of materials, fillers, devices, and systems with dimensions on the order of 0.1 to 100 nanometers, exhibiting novel and significantly enhanced mechanical, electrical, thermal, chemical, and biological properties, due to their nanoscopic size and large aspect ratios, is attracting considerable attention from the scientific community.
