Objectives

To teach the fundamentals of chemistry considering the goals associated with the course of mechanical engineering. It will be shown to student the central role that chemistry plays among the sciences as well as the importance of chemistry in the society and day-to-day living. Thus, the matter it will be done in a sequence of s providing a logical development of concepts, taking into account that the following concepts have already been done: Matter and energy; The periodic table and some properties of the elements; Atomic and electronic structure; Chemical bonding, general concepts; Chemical bonding and molecular structure.
