Variates and probability distributions: Distributions of discrete and continuous variates. Distribution parameters. Transformed variates. Joint Distribution of two variates: Joint, marginal and conditional distributions. Independent variates. Covariance and correlation. Distribution of functions of two variates. Univariate discrete distributions: Binomial, hipergeometric and Poisson. Univariate continuous distributions: Uniform, negative exponential, normal, c2, t e F. Random sampling and sampling distributions: Distribution of the sample mean. Central limit theorem. Generation of random variables. Interval estimation: Specification of confidence intervals. Statistical tests: Specification of hypothesis tests. Non-parametric tests: Goodness of fit. Analysis of variance: Models with one factor with fixed effects.
