EM 309 - Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (Concepção e Fabrico Assistidos por Computador) Introduction to computer programming: program development cycle, programming tools and programming languages. Introduction to computer graphics: curves and surface interpolation, graphic libraries. CAD systems: their description and classification, their use in drafting and design, parametric drafting, three-dimensional modeling. Drawing-design, drawing-analysis and drawing-manufacturing interfaces. Computer aided manufacturing: basic principles, manual and automatic programming of NC machine tools. Objectives To transmit to the students the capacity to handle geometric and non-geometric information, in the production area. To implement computer programs that allow the processing of the information retrieved from commercial softwares. To identify and use the diverse characteristics inherent to the drafting programs and numerical control machines. |
