Dead loads, imposed loads, wind loads, snow loads and seismic loads. Design of sections - Section classification. Design of tension members. Design of compression members, effect of boundary conditions in the buckling length. Buckling length in portal frames. Beam design. Stability design of built-up I sections (girders). Lateral torsional buckling verification. Interaction bending and compression. Analysis of portal frames and trusses using stiffness methods or finite element methods. Modeling the structure and loads. Analysis of member forces and design. Analysis and design of bracing systems. Design of bolted and welded connections. Beam to colum connections, beam to beam conections. Truss node design. Column base design.
