Proportional hydraulics technology systems and control. Hydraulic servosystems. Sizing and design of hydraulic open and closed-loop control systems. Modelling of hydraulic feedback control systems. Variable speed electrical drives and controls. Open and closed-loop motion control electrical drives. Feedback control theory applied to power motion control.

Objectives

To provide the future students with a global understanding of the technology behind motion control systems, both hydraulic and electrically driven. Establish a clear relationship between the technology, the physics and the mathematics involved in motion control systems.
