In the scope of "Product Innovation Award: Cotec-Unicer", ACS was distinguished with an honorable mention. The award was assigned to ReCyclone Systems, for particle capture.

July 2008: The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) selected the PhD thesis of  Pedro Silva Martins as the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Industrial Crystallization in 2008. Prof. Fernando Rocha, a permanent member of the staff of LEPAE since 2007, was the supervisor of this thesis completed at the University of Porto.The thesis, entitled “ Modelling Crystal Growth from Pure and Impure Solutions - A Case Study on Sucrose ”, was selected by an international jury as “… the best thesis in terms of innovativeness, breadth and depth of research, and its industrial relevance”.
