Welcome to Underwater Communications World

Communicate is the interaction that all life being does naturally. It's like breathing. This interaction over the years evolved making possible the exchange of information through very large distances. Networks of communications are implemented by cables or wireless using antennas point to point directly on earth or using satellites on atmosphere. The last mean to refer is under the water. This is the hardest place to communicate due to the perturbations that degrade the signal and limit the bandwidth of it. To apply RF signals under the water, the amount of power needed to produce these signals that compensate the accentuated attenuation, would be a large quantity that led to an inefficient system. The solution is in using another form of support of communication that is acoustic waves. Besides the reduced bandwidth for the minimum attenuation in this channel, with modulations techniques of usual communications, it is expected that improvements will be made to obtain better characteristics for the communications in this channel.
