This research is being developed as a Master Thesis for the Integrated Master in Electrical and Computers Engineering under the new Bologna process.

The dissertation will be developed over a period of one year, under the courses of Preparation for the MSc Dissertation (first semester) and Dissertation Thesis (second semester).

The work will be supervised by the faculty Professor Luís Corte-Real and by Pedro Carvalho from INESC Porto.

About me: my name is Miguel Amável Pinheiro and I'm currently a student in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. I enrolled in 2005 in the Integrated Master in Electric and Computers Engineering, choosing later to take a major in Telecommunications and a specialization in Multimedia Communications.

On the autumn of 2008, I studied in Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden under the Erasmus program.

After that and already taking courses from the Multimedia Communications specialization, I began to seek some project in my field of studies. On a visit to INESC (Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering of Porto), I met Pedro Carvalho who’s taking a PhD in the institute.

Soon, I've been proposed to work on a Master thesis that consisted on Multi Object Tracking. Given this proposal, and also my increasing interest on the subject, I decided to accept this challenge.
