 Tutorial de Electromagnetismo, com resolução de exercícios
Nível universitário (em português)
 ref: electromag (5 semanas, 4 horas/semana)

Curso intensivo sobre as bases do Electromagnetismo, começando pela forma como o campo eléctrico emerge de distribuições de cargas (Electrostática), análise de casos típicos, condensadores, e entrando depois no conceito de corrente eléctrica, circuitos eléctricos e suas "leis", etc. Avança-se depois para a Electrodinâmica, campos devidos à movimentação de cargas (campo magnético) e forças associadas, força electromagnética total em partículas carregadas, e a análise de campos magnéticos em casos típicos. Equações de Maxwell-Heaviside, fluxos e induções eléctrica e magnética, leis de Faraday e de Ampére, e alguns exemplos práticos didáticos. Ondas electromagnéticas a partir das equações de Maxwell-Heaviside. Características mais importantes das ondas electromagnéticas, etc... Apesar de alguns dos conceitos apresentados poderem ser considerados "avançados", alunos realmente interessados em Electromagnetismo poderão seguir e compreender o curso desde que possuam boas bases do ensino secundário.

Física para Medicina (em inglês)

Inspired by a casual conversation with a Doctor specialist in Radiology, this discipline was conceived to introduce the students of medicine the appropriate fundaments of physics in that area. It is thus firstly directed to those who usually work with systems of diagnose or treatment based on ultrasonic, electromagnetic and radioactive radiation. We will talk about oscilations and propagation of radiation in the vacuum and media, how they interfer with matter and with radiation itself; which are the sources of waves, its benefits and dangers, etc. And we will lead the student to understand the fenomena and instrumentation related to the most common technics presently in use: ultrasounds, radiography, angiography, computed tomography (cat), magnetic resonance, nuclear medicine, etc. Finally, we will present some examples of the machinery and instrumentation associated to these technics.  Elementos de Física geral, para uma fácil progressão no ensino superior

Elementos de Física Geral para preparação do aluno para uma boa progressão no ensino superior. As matérias são separadas por meses. Por ordem, a disciplina está estruturada para iniciar no "Mês das Dimensões Físicas e da Trigonometria", a que se segue o "Mês das Leis de Newton e da Manipulação de Equações", depois o "Mês da Energia, da Mecânica Celeste e do Movimento de Sólidos", e finalmente o "Mês da Temperatura e das Forças Eléctricas e Magnéticas".  5 Semanas de Mecânica Quântica
5 Weeks of Quantum Mechanics (in portuguese)

Os meandros da Mecânica Quântica sempre estiveram envolvidos nessa espécie de fascínio que caracteriza os ambientes mágicos. Com efeito, algumas interpretações por parte de certos formalismos da Mechânica Quântica ainda hoje deixam espantados não só o comum dos mortais mas também os próprios físicos que a essas matérias se dedicam. A presente mini-disciplina destina-se a apresentar as bases do conhecimento fisico-matemático em que a Mecânica Quântica se sustenta, assim como a evolução histórica dos vários modelos de átomo que, naturalmente, nos conduziu ao actual modelo quântico. Algumas das estranhezes desse mundo quântico serão também discutidas e "explicadas" de forma a pelo menos tentar esclarecer o aluno o melhor possível sobre esses assuntos. A física e a matemática necessárias a uma boa assimilação destas matérias exigem alguns conhecimentos de nível universitário, no entanto, as aulas são explicadas ao pormenor e, devido a isso, é provável que um aluno com conhecimentos do final do liceu as possa acompanhar.

 Introductory insight on physico-mathematics

A significant number of students entering university show a systemic poor knowledge on physics and mathematics, which does not let them progress in their courses. They are in general surprising negative in what concerns abstraction and the capacity of creating by themselves new models in their minds. On the other hand, they seem extremely agile to repeat what they hear. We think this is the result of systematic measures coming out from inadequate reforms which were made in our secondary educational system along the last, say, two decades. The present discipline aims to surpass those difficulties and help the students on acquiring a reasonable base of knowledge on these matters, and stimulate their rationality. We will talk of units, manipulation of equations, trigonometry and 3D physics, Newton mechanics, rigid body, gravitation, temperature, magnetism, etc...
