  • Licenciate in Electrical Engineering, by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto , in February 19, 1970,  with the final classification of 16 out of 20.

  • Doctor, suma cum lauda, in Electrical Engineering (Applied Electronics), by the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering, in April 26, 1984, with a thesis entitled "A Microcomputer Programmable Optimization Method for the Project of Linear Circuits with Nested Subdivision".
