2004 - Intercontinental Cup, Porto-Once Caldas

Italian edition, of the embroidered type:

A gift of my friend and colleague Gil Santos

Made in China. It's a jacquard type scarf (double face), but the reverse doesn't have crests. It's a very long scarf (1.77 m); for example, it's 37 cm longer than the former!

A gift of my friend Ricardo Guimarães

2004 - World Champion

Two identical scarves?! No! It is noticeable that in the first one the crest has a lighter blue! But, the most interesting difference is more subtle! The first scarf has been still made in 2004, as we can see in the copyright statement; as the first edition was sold out quickly, a second edition has been made already in 2005! (Put the pointer over the images to see increased the referred statements). Finely embroidered type scarf:

Apparently, the following scarves repeat the story of the former ones, but using a different manufacturing technique (these are of the embroidered type)! The differences are similar: on the first scarf, the crest has a lighter blue and the copyright statement indicates 2004; on the second, the blue in the crest is darker and the copyright indicates 2005! (Put the pointer over the images to see increased the referred statements). However, both scarves were released for sale only on 30/01/05!

This scarf has not been licensed by FC Porto, but has been sold without restrictions! In fact, it doesn't display the name, neither the crest and the dragon depicted doesn't correspond to the registered logo of the club! Indeed, one cannot assure that it is a dragon! The scarf is not dated, but everybody saw it for sale after the conquest of the World Champion title! Jacquard type double face edition:

Embroidered type scarf, licensed by FC Porto, issued in September, 2005:

2004-05 - Champions League, round of 16, Porto-Internazionale

Finely embroidered type scarf, licensed by FC Porto:

Variant of the previous with production mistakes (see the Inter crest). Although that it has been sold in an official shop:

A gift of my friend collector Fernando Peixoto Correia

Embroidered type edition, licensed by Inter:

Portuguese non licensed jacquard type scarf (double face):

Italian non licensed embroidered type edition:

A gift of my friend collector Fernando Peixoto Correia

Another non licensed jacquard type edition (two equal faces):

2005 - All-time  International Cups

Finely embroidered type scarf given by FC Porto to the VIP sponsoring companies, displaying the international titles list:

Variant of the previous (given to invited personalities?):

2005-06 - Amsterdam Tournament 2005 (July 29-31), Ajax, Arsenal, Boca Juniors, FCP

Excellent edition of Ajax, organizing club of the tournament, jacquard type (double face):

2005-06 - Champions League, Group Stage, FCP, Internazionale, Rangers, Artmedia

Interesting British edition non licensed by Rangers - notice that the crest and even the name are absent, jacquard type (double face):

A gift of my friend Iain Lightbody

Portuguese edition non licensed by FC Porto, sublimated type (double face):

Another Portuguese edition non licensed by FC Porto, embroidered type:

Artmedia's edition, sublimated type (double face):

Another Artmedia's edition, sublimated type (double face)

2005-06 - Champions League, Group Stage, Porto-Rangers

British edition non licensed by Rangers - notice that the crest and even the name are absent; jacquard type with two equal faces:

A gift of my friend and colleague Gil Santos

Another British edition non licensed by Rangers; this one doesn't even show any dates (jacquard type with two equal faces):

Also a British edition non licensed by Rangers, only appeared by the game in Dragão, brought by the Scottish supporters (jacquard type with two equal faces):

This edition, also a British one, although displaying the Rangers crest does not seem to be an official product; it also has appeared only by the game in Dragão, brought by the Scottish supporters (jacquard type with two equal faces):

One more British edition, non licensed by Rangers and only seen by the game in Dragão, brought by the Scottish supporters. This edition is the only one to show the dates of the games (jacquard type with two equal faces):

And this one, like the former, has been brought by a Rangers supporter (jacquard type with two equal faces):

2005 - All-time Cups

Once again a scarf (embroidered type) displaying erroneously the FC Porto all-time cups has been edited! In relation to the 2004 scarf, the number of Intercontinental Cups was updated but the number of national championships remains wrong (19 instead of 20)! (Put the pointer over the image to see the details.)

The former scarf started being sold on September 24, match day with Belenenses, by the street sellers around the Dragão. However, one of the street sellers and just that one was selling another scarf displaying, finally, the right description of the all-time cups! This strange situation remained, at least, on September 28, when Artmedia visited the Dragão! (Put the pointer over the image to see the details.)

2005-06 - Champions League, Group Stage, Porto-Internazionale

Super Dragões' edition - notice that the FC Porto crest is absent (finely embroidered type):

2005-06 - Portuguese Cup, 4th round, Porto-Marco

Edition of FC Marco's supporters, printed on satin type tissue:

2005 - Golden Years

Although no dates are shown, this scarf (embroidered type) refers undoubtedly to the seasons of 2002/03 and 2003/04, when FC Porto won two national championships, one UEFA Cup, one Champions League Cup and one Intercontinental Cup (cups pictured on the scarf):

In 2009, my friend Daniel Voges found this scarf in a store of the Lisbon region! It has been made sewing two different embroidered type scarves. I do not know what led to that! A proposal not approved? A simple joke? I do not know!
