I was born in Póvoa de Varzim, a beautiful town near the seaside (30 km above Porto), in 1985. I went to the University of Porto (Faculty of Science) to study Computer Science, where I got both my B.Sc. (2007) and M.Sc (2009).

At this point, I'm a Ph.D. student in the area of Telecommunications at the MAP-tele doctoral program [which is a joint venture of three portuguese universities: Universidade do Minho (UM), Universidade de Aveiro (UA) and Universidade do Porto (UP)]. I'm currently enrolled at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) and working at the Shannon Communications Lab. In addition I am a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) at the Porto delegation (IT-Porto)

The focus of my thesis is on code design for physical-layer security. My Ph.D. advisor is Prof. Joao Barros .
