The global nature of service-oriented computing leads to many opportunities and challenges in all domains, and creates a networked
structure for constructing collective intelligence. This Workshop deals with the application of service-oriented computing in constructing
collective intelligence (emerging from the collaboration and competition of many individuals, e.g., artificial and/ or natural). The objective
of this Workshop on Service-Oriented Computing for Collective Intelligence (SOC4CI) is to provide an outlet to report on research aspects and
applications of service-oriented computing for collective intelligence. This Workshop seeks papers discussing state-of-the-art research
(e.g., models, techniques, theories), on-going R&D projects, or recent advances (e.g., ICT infrastructures) for collective intelligence based
on service-oriented computing. It encourages the submission of unpublished papers describing new concepts, theories, strategies, systems, ICT
infrastructures, or case studies discussing the applicability of these approaches to real-world problems, and their relevance for sustainable
development. Papers presenting inter-disciplinary approaches and academic-industrial industrial collaborations on service computing for
collective intelligence are particularly encouraged.
This Workshop will be organized with oral presentations, followed by two rounds Workshop Knowledge Tea/ Café on two subjects
on service oriented computing for collective intelligence, related to the papers (e.g., in order to assure less formal discussions among workshop
participants). A plenary panel and report will close this Workshop.
Topics include (but are not limited to): services computing (e.g., Web services, cloud services); collective intelligence; the application of
intelligent technologies to support collective intelligence in different domains (e.g., healthcare, finances, sales prediction), and the
creation of new forms of (computational) collective intelligence.
Workshop article submission deadline is April 23, 2010.
