Fixed and Fluidized Bed Combustion Studies

This is an area of research which goes back to the mid-eighties. Presently our interest is on the production of pellets and briquettes, using agricultural residues, as well as infesting shrub species. The stress and strain relationship during pellets formation is analyzed for several biomass mixtures. The briquettes combustion is study in a domestic boiler, whereas in the case of the pellets, biochar particles are produced from its carbonization and then their combustion behavior is evaluated in laboratory scale employing fixed and bubbling fluidized bed burners.
