The ALTO - PERFIS PULTRUDIDOS, Lda is a small company that possesses two pultrusion machines for the production of structural pieces, such as INP type beams, pipes, etc. One of ALTO’s machines was developed recently by a Portuguese company and it still does not possess the desirable effectiveness for this pultrusion process. The aim of the present project is focused on improve the existing equipments at ALTO, transforming them on a more competitive ones, by adjusting the thermal management, by reducing the setup times consumption of the process and by doing a valorization of the residues produced during the industrial process. The first stages aim essentially to operate in the direct reduction of economical costs and in the energy wastefulness reduction. The final also aims to operate in environment terms, starting to valorize the industrial residues that are that are now directly deposed at landfills. Once the results were achieved in all these areas, we intend to define indicators that allow controlling the effectiveness of the industrial process. In this context, we desire that, in the end of project, the industrial process becomes more flexible, more income attractive, more thermally efficient, more environmental friend by valorizing the residues and incorporating them in other processes. These objectives can be achieved by reducing the energy consumed and by doing an efficient and permanent monitorization of the most important parameters that characterize the process, as they easy allow the analysis and the identifications of deviations occurrence.
