Chief Executive – EAUC (Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges) – The Alliance for Sustainability
The EAUC is the environmental and sustainability champion within Further and Higher Education in the UK and Ireland. We are a Member association supporting Universities and Colleges across the UK and Ireland.
Commended by his Headmaster for being able to spell the word ‘environment’, it seemed Iain’s destiny at an early age that he would develop a passion for sustainability. This destiny was later fulfilled when Iain moved from Ireland to England to became the first dedicated Environmental Officer in a UK college. Iain soon became the EAUC trailblazer leading the writing and realisation of a business plan for the newly formed charity. As the organisation grew and gained momentum, Iain became the EAUC’s first Chief Executive and is the face of the EAUC. Today he is leading it through a significant new strategic vision and rebrand to reposition sustainability for university and college leaders as ‘just good business’, the ‘new norm’ in how we all will work in the future.
After a period working with an agricultural community development in Kenya, a love of Africa is in Iain’s blood. With his family he runs a small sheep farm in the Teme Valley and supports a community food storage and enterprise scheme in eastern Uganda.
EAUC are delivery partners for the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative endorsed Sustainable Development Goals Accord as well as being the lead for the Global Alliance. EAUC deliver the International Green Gown Awards which are endorsed by UN Environment

KTH Royal Institute of Technology
Kristina trabalha como Gestora de Sustentabilidade no Gabinete de Sustentabilidade do Royal Institute for Technology. É responsável pela área da sustentabilidade na KTH e pelo sistema de gestão ambiental (EMS) de acordo com as leis nacionais e com o padrão internacional para o sistema de gestão ambiental ISO 14001:2015. O KTH tem uma certificação de acordo com a norma. O sistema de gestão ambiental inclui a integração de questões ambientais e de sustentabilidade na educação, investigação e cooperação a nível internacional e nacional. Também inclui a integração de questões de sustentabilidade nas operações , infraestruturas e aquisições das universidades.
Trabalhou na submissão da informação do KTH ao sistema de classificação da Times Higher Education relativamente aos objetivos globais de sustentabilidade da ONU. KTH foi classificado como em sétimo lugar de 500 universidades em sustentabilidade neste ano.
Kristina trabalhou num projeto de investigação sobre as leis e normas nacionais para a integração da sustentabilidade no ‘core business’ das universidades.
É advogada ambiental com foco em direito ambiental internacional e nacional. Tem mais de 25 anos de experiência na implementação de EMS no setor público e privado. Trabalhou, também, com as Nações Unidas durante quatro anos (2014-2018) na implementação de um sistema de gestão ambiental dentro de diferentes organizações da ONU.
