The symposium on “Occupational Safety and Health” will be held in the scope of the 3rd Doctoral Congress Engineering (DCE19) which will be hosted at FEUP, Porto, Portugal on the 27th and 28th of June 2019.

Symposium Comittee, composed with members from DemSSO – Doctoral Program in Occupational Safety and Health and  MESHO -Master in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Engineering, is pleased to invite you to share ongoing work or results of PhD or Master.

Topics for submission will focus on (but not necessarily exclude other areas):

  • Occupational Health
  • Ergonomics
  • Occupational Safety and Hygiene
  • Occupational Psychosociology

Please check the ‘Instructions for authors’ page and follow these instructions:

Abstract: The abstract should have between 300-450 words, and should be structured with the titles: Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusions.

Keywords should appear after the abstract (minimum three).

Article body should have the following structure: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References. The article must have between 10500-12000 characters including spaces (approximately 1500-2000 words). Please note that this count of characters does not include images, tables and references.

All figures and tables should be integrated along the text.

References must be done according to APA 6th edition referencing style.

Text should be sent without any formatting or tabs, with 2 points spaces. The accepted (final) version of the manuscript will be formatted by the Editors

Presentation (oral communication/poster)

At least one of the authors is required to attend the Symposium to present the abstract.

 

Publications

All accepted  and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be mentioned in the event’s program/Booklet that will be given to congress participants on the 1st day.

All accepted  and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be published in the Symposium Book of Abstracts (with ISBN).

Authors of accepted and revised short papers will be published in a Proceedings Book (with ISBN)Authors with best scientific works will be invited to submit their manuscripts (full paper with revisions completed) in an International Journal.

Awards

Authors of accepted and revised abstracts, presented at the Congress, will be eligible for:

  1. “Best oral communication Award”
  2. “Best poster Award”

Registration (Payment)

Registration is mandatory for all participants.

At least one author  of each accepted and revised abstract must be registered in the event, with a paid fee, for the abstracts’ reference to appear in the Booklet, in the Book of Abstracts and in the Proceedings.

All abstracts submitted to this Symposium, accepted and revised, will have one (1) registration paid (to the author who presents the oral communication or the poster).
