The symposium on “Mining  Engineering and Geo-Resources” will be held in the scope of the 4th Doctoral Congress  Engineering (DCE21) which will be hosted at FEUP, Porto, Portugal on the 28th and 29th of June 2021 (online).

This Symposium is organized, in collaboration with the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), by PhD and Master Students from the following programs:

  • Doctoral Program in Mining Engineering and Geo-Resources (PDEMGR/FEUP)
  • Master Course in Mining Engineering and Geo-Environment (MEMG/FEUP)
  • Doctoral Program in Georesources (DEAGeo/IST)
  • Doctoral Program in Oil and Gas Engineering (DEAPet/IST)
  • Master Course in Geologic and Mining Engineering (MEGM/IST)

with the support of the research center CERENA.

Symposium Comittee is pleased to invite you to share ongoing work or results of PhD or Master.

 

Topics for submission will focus on:

  • Exploration and Feasibility
  • Mining Extraction
  • Mineral Processing
  • Environmental Mining Impact
  • Mining Life Assessment  (including: Resources Assessment, Mining Planning, Mine Closure, Recycling, Life Cycle Assessment, Occupational Assessment, etc.)
  • Oil and Gas Engineering

Presentation (oral communication/poster)

At least one of the authors is required to attend the symposium to present the abstract.

Publications

All accepted  and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be mentioned in the event’s program/Booklet.

All accepted  and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be published in the Symposium Book of Abstracts (with ISBN).

Authors of accepted and revised abstracts will be encouraged to submit their manuscripts (full paper with revisions completed) to the U. Porto Journal of Engineering for publication in a special issue.

At least 1 author must be registered in the Congress with a paid fee (the presenter of the oral/poster communication).

All presenters will have their fees paid by PDEMGR.

All speakers will have their fees paid by PDEMGR.

Registration (Payment)

Registration is mandatory for all participants.

At least one author  of each accepted and revised abstract must be registered in the event, with a paid fee, for the abstracts’ reference to appear in the Booklet, in the Book of Abstracts and in the Proceedings.

All abstracts  submitted to this Symposium, accepted and revised, will have one (1) registration paid (to the  author who presents the oral communication or the poster). To  have your registration paid, check the ‘Registrations‘ webpage and follow the guidelines.
