Associated to the Building Division, this section’s main objective is the study and analysis of the acoustic behaviour of construction materials and components. It covers the areas of Environmental and Building Acoustics.
The central objective of this laboratory, which is integrated in the Transport Infrastructures Division, is the study of traffic and road safety through the characterization, analysis, control and management of mobility. It has a DriS Driving Simulator, in order to analyse difficult to reproduce driving situations.
The main objective of this laboratory, which is integrated in the Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment Division, is the experimental study of urban and industrial wastewater treatment, the characterization of industrial effluents, sludge and river water, and the elaboration of essays on water and wastewater treatment.
The primary objective of this laboratory, which is associated with the Structural Division and the Construction Institute, is to test and study structures in order to analyse their behaviour when under the effect of dynamic actions (in particular of seismic type) and static ones.
The main objective of this laboratory, which is associated with the Building Division, is the study of the hygrothermal behaviour of construction materials and components, regarding their suitability to various needs, their durability and the improvement of their hygrothermal characteristics.
Integrated in the Construction Materials Division, this laboratory conducts research in Geosynthetics and Environmental Geotechnics, capable of performing a wide range of geosynthetic tests according to European standards.
The activity of this laboratory, associated with the Geotechnics Division, is developed in the following fields: prospecting, field and laboratory tests and observation and characterization of natural land masses and anisotropic geotechnical construction works, as well as specialized tests in the mechanics of soils and rocks.
This laboratory allows the development of experimental work in the field of hydraulics, namely the measurement of flows, using techniques such as Laser Doppler Anemometry, among others. It is associated with the Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment Division.
Associated with the Construction Materials Division, this laboratory supports works in the construction materials area.
Associated with the Spatial Planning and Environment Division, this laboratory supports academic activities and both basic and applied research in the spatial planning and environment areas, particularly in the field of Geographic Information Systems.
The mission of this laboratory is to support research in the field of traditionally non-structural materials, as well as construction systems and components. It’s associated with the Building Division.
This Laboratory supports experimental research activities in the area of Structural Dynamics, aiming at the characterization of vibratory environments, the analysis, identification and monitoring of the dynamic behaviour of structures and the control of vibrations. It’s associated with the Structures and the Construction Materials Divisions.
This laboratory deals with the development of cement materials (structural concrete, among others), the design and advanced analysis of structures, experimental analysis and observation of construction works, as well as structural reinforcement and rehabilitation. It is associated with the Structures Division.
