The Integrated Master in Civil Engineering has been awarded the international EUR-ACE quality label. This certifies MIEC as a high-quality programme which meets the international standards for professional engineering education at the masters level.
The current Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering (PRODEC) is the result a renovation of FEUP’s training structures, both in terms of working methods and of their respective contents, in line with the commitments made within the context of the so-called Bologna Process.
The growing increase in mobility within Europe, in particular the implementation of the Bologna Process, increases the weight lifelong learning has on professional valorisation.
Master in Civil Engineering Structures
The aim of the course is to provide training in the analysis and dimensioning of civil engineering works in which there is a strong interaction with Structures and Geotechnics.
The proposed Cycle of Studies, under the responsibility of the Civil Engineering Departments of FEUP and FCTUC, is defined as a project of excellence at the level of the 2nd Bologna cycle, which aims at the transmission of advanced knowledge in the specific fields of Geotechnics.
The Advanced Studies in Building Rehabilitation course (EARPE), offers a solid and multidisciplinary technological training, necessary for the correct intervention in existing buildings, and has a duration of one academic year. The diploma (non-degree) includes training in the area of construction, structures, materials, planning, geotechnics and architecture.
The course aims to provide students with a deeper theoretical and practical training for the practice of the profession, crossing international borders and welcoming a diversity of themes in the areas of planning, management and urban policies in both large and medium-sized agglomerations.
The Doctoral Programme is provided by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. The programme aims to foster advanced knowledge in the field of territorial planning, directed mainly at explaining, formulating and rationalizing future public policy agendas.
The Programme, which is shared with the Universities of Coimbra and Lisbon, aims to train researchers into being solidly prepared to promote scientific development and technological innovation in the area of Transport Systems.
The course grants the master degree in Urban Mobility Management and is the result of a collaboration between the University of Coimbra and the University of Porto.
