The Course Programme, which is shared between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture, both of the University of Porto (FEUP and FAUP), benefits from years of experience of collaboration between the two Institutions. The course aims to provide students with a deeper theoretical and practical training for the practice of the profession, crossing international borders and welcoming a diversity of themes in the areas of planning, management and urban policies in both large and medium-sized agglomerations. The approach of the major themes that identify the Course Programme will be guided towards the international debate on environmental, social and economic concerns, without losing its urban, suburban or interurban Portuguese context. In this sense, the Programme will follow methods of studying and understanding national urban planning issues and, by analogy, distinguished international cases.
