City transports


The best way to reach the Engineering Faculty of Porto University is by metro. From the airport metro station,  you can catch the violet line and get off at Trindade metro station (aprox. 29 minutes). There, you change to the metro yellow line, direction Hospital São João, and get off at IPO station (aprox. 10 minutes).

From Campanhã train station, tou can get any of the lines to Trindade, and then catch the yellow line, as explained above (aprox. 16 minutes).

São Bento train station is connected to the yellow metro line, that you can get to reach the Faculty of Engineering directly (aprox. 13 minutes).

At Matosinhos harbour, you can get the blue metro line at the Senhor de Matosinhos metro station and get off at Trindade to get the yellow line to the Faculty of Engineering (aprox. 37 minutes).

Tram can be an option for city transportation. There is also a special historical line (funicular) in an old repared electric tram, that connects two city points with historical interest (Batalha and Ribeira of Porto). Information is found on the metro website too.


The Porto city is connected by a net of bus lines (SCTP). Information on lines and timetables can be assessed at the SCTP website.



Alternatively, you can take a taxi at the airport, train stations or at the harbour.
