I completed my academic journey in 2020, after 5 years in the field of Information Science, first with LCI and later with MCI.
The path through the winding slopes of this scientific area was initially marked by the uncertainty derived from the great variety of disciplines it encompasses. For example, while I studied Linguistics, I also studied Information Systems Analysis and Fundamentals of Management, three distinct areas of knowledge.
Naturally, the question arose: what can an individual trained in such a broad area offer a company in the labor market?
This question was recurrent during my degree, and in hindsight, only satiated by the right choice of joining the MCI.
Suddenly, the familiar but different disciplines of this course painted a clear picture of what an information professional is: someone capable of bridging the gap between human, technological, and business aspects to meet the most varied needs of companies.
Thus, we positioned ourselves as the intermediary between the user and the programmer, the link between data and business objectives, and the answer between the need for information and the document.
And, after finishing the course, I not only gained the knowledge of the area and the awareness of what I can offer in the job market, but also the very job I currently perform as a researcher at INESC TEC, the institution where I developed my dissertation, and that later offered me the continuation of the work after finishing it.
Here, I find myself remembering classes, powerpoints, and tests, to perform tasks that will give rise to an innovative business system that will revolutionize the way a product is developed, using for this specific knowledge of requirements gathering and knowledge management. And in these moments I feel the greatest personal achievement, realizing that I made the right choice when I joined MCI.
This is how I end this testimonial, which, in the end, serves as a pitch for this course. If you are looking for one that offers an interesting study plan, high employability, and security for the future, consider MCI.
