Entering university is simply unique. It is a moment that marks us deeply. We feel accomplished and satisfied for all that we have overcome with greater or lesser difficulty. The feeling of overcoming and achievement is what marks us the most immediately after entering Engineering and Industrial Management (EIM) at FEUP.

The EIM student, that along your path you will have the opportunity to discover, is characterized by being extremely ambitious, dynamic and creative. You will have the opportunity to discover that this new stage of your life, contrary to what you might think, is not only about study and work. It is natural that the beginning may seem daunting or even intimidating. It is a whole new dynamic, somewhat different from what you will have experienced in high school. Nevertheless, it is a great opportunity to grow and evolve, especially as a person. I think my experience in the first year was very positive and enriching. Meeting new people, realities and the opportunity to be part of associations and projects that you can contribute to, helping the personal development and of the whole community is something that, certainly, will make you very proud and fulfilled.

The biggest advice I give you, based on my experience, is to be yourself and fight for everything you believe in. Be unique and always try to help others, even more at this early stage.

The success of our community is the success of all of us. It is built by all of us.
