  TRAVEL GRANT


  
The International Association of Technological University Libraries (IATUL) operates an annual Travel Grant Programme to assist first-time   attendees at the IATUL Conference who are from outside of the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and EU countries . The purpose of   the Travel Grants is to encourage participation by institutions that are currently not members of IATUL. Travel grants will be awarded to library   and/or information professionals whose libraries qualify for membership in IATUL.

  The Travel Grant is not intended to cover the full cost of attending the Conference but can be used for Conference registration costs and   other travel expenses. The maximum amount of an individual grant is €1000.

  When applying for a Travel Grant, please remember that English is the official language of the organization and its annual conference.

  How to apply for a Travel Grant
  Applicants should submit a short statement, in English, explaining what benefits they expect from attending the IATUL conference. Please   include in the application: name, title, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number (with area and country code), and fax number.   Only complete applications will be considered.

  THE TONY EVANS TRAVEL GRANT

  A Travel Grant of 500 UK pounds, donated by Professor Tony Evans a previous President of IATUL, is available to assist a young UK librarian   to attend the IATUL Conference in Porto, Portugal 22-25 May, 2006.

  Potential candidates should be under 35 years of age on 1 January 2006.

  Potential candidates should provide an application which should:
  - Present a brief case (not more than 250 words) outlining why they wish to attend the IATUL conference
  - Include a brief CV with the application.
  - Attach a letter stating that any additional funding will be provided by the applicant or by their library.
  - Attach a letter of support from their Library Director.

  Decisions on the recipient of the Travel Grant will be taken by the IATUL Board. In choosing the recipient of the grant, preference will be given   to candidates in the following sequence:
  - Suitable quality candidates from UK member libraries
  - Suitable quality candidates from member libraries in the British Commonwealth
  - Suitable quality candidates from other member libraries

  A report on the candidate's experience should be sent to the Board within 3 months of the conference for possible wider distribution
  and/or publication.
