Research Interest
The scientific interests and the research activity belong to the area of Time Series Analysis, particularly, integer-valued time series. Recently, modelling of censored count data is been object of study.
The main objective is the statistical inference of the INteger-valued AutoRegressivos (INAR) and moving average (INMA) models, namely in the parameter estimation, order selection, diagnostic and validation and forecasting, for the univariate and multivariate cases. Additionally, the detection of outliers for INAR models has also been developed. Modelling censored time series of counts is the current research work.
On the other hand, Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) and forecasting of time series using this methodology have also been object of study.
Interesses de Investigação
Os interesses científicos e a actividade de investigação situam-se na área de Análise de Séries Temporais, particularmente, séries de valores inteiros, não negativos, como é o caso das séries de contagem. Recentemente, a modelação de séries de contagem censuradas tem sido objecto de estudo.
O objectivo global consiste na modelação estatística dos modelos autoregressivos de valor inteiro (INAR) e de médias móveis (INMA), nomeadamente, estimação de parâmetros, selecção de ordem, validação e diagnóstico e previsão, quer no caso univariado como no multivariado. Adicionalmente, outro tópico que tem sido desenvolvido é o da detenção de outliers nos modelos INAR. Atualmente, o trabalho de investigação centra-se na modelação de dados de contagem censurados.
A Análise Espectral Singular (SSA), assim como a previsão de séries temporais usando esta metodologia, também tem sido objecto de estudo.
