Approach

Improvement of the competitiveness of the participating companies by the use of telework based new organisational structures.

Enhancement of work productivity to motivate the companies to implement telework widely as an accepted innovative organisational practices and to create new kinds of (tele-) jobs throughout Europe.

Demonstrating the usage of workflow tools in the management of telework

Support of the consolidation of European internal labour market and the compensation of labour market between urban and rural areas.

COBIP is funded by the European Commission DG XIII within TAP - the Telematics Applications Programme.

Please have a look at the general objectives of TAP - Telematics Applications Programme, too.

In the TAP Workprogramme the general and specific objectives for AREA C - "Telematics for Improving Employment and Quality of Life" and the related Sektor 6: Urban and Rural Areas are described.

Particularly the tasks (UR 1.3) and the research environment, where COBIP is located, are explained in the workprogramme. These are in detail Research Task: 1. Teleworking to strenghten Competitiveness and Employment and in focus  Task UR 1.3 Decentralisation of Activities.

Fast changing environments demand flexible Information Systems solutions, only achieved through model-based approaches and supported by state-of-the-art workflow management technology.

COBIP regards Telework as an innovative work organisation-form for new decentralised organisational structures, enabled by a co-ordination tool with specific functionality planning.

COBIP state-of-the-art approach to the co-ordination of decentralised telework activities, combines telework workflow co-ordination tools and specific planning functions with useful multimedia services provided by distributed Digital Library and Video-conference service.
