Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) create new opportunities for information transmission. Ubiquitous technological resources offer new strategies for exchanging and storing information, making the development of multisensory knowledge possible and simultaneously allowing schools to go through an adaptation process towards a society of information.

This work focuses on interface development and communication mechanisms, supported by existing technologies. The system that was developed enables gathering, storing and spreading of MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages and references the geographic location where the messages were created. These messages are presented using a virtual globe system.

The main aim of this study is creating tools that promotes the use of ubiquitous multisensory communication by searching innovating information sharing processes. The construction of an interface for children in their first years of elementary school education and the success rate of its usage are the bases of this work.

Available technologies as well as the usage of tools and the participation of children were taken into consideration for the construction of this system. The definition and construction of the interfaces were accomplished by the usage of participatory design techniques with children in workshops, which were held at their schools. A solution was developed through the participation of the children in workshops and refinements and evaluations were made to it.

The use of mobile technologies for representing virtual information was accomplished, driven by primary school children. This way, the development of this work contributes to the evolution of the ubiquitous and multisensory use of Information and Communication of Technologies in education.
