[previous] [next] [contents]    Test protocol for BS boards

The process of testing a BS board takes place in a sequence of steps that starts by checking the integrity of the BS infrastructure itself, followed by two main types of tests: interconnects and components. These two types of test operations are frequently subdivided into further steps, namely:

  • Full BS interconnects test (for open and short-circuit faults) and non-BS cluster interconnects test
  • Components with and without BIST

The expression full-BS interconnects refers to those interconnects that do not include pins of non-BS ICs (primary input / output pins may however be present, as well as Ground or VCC connections, besides the BS pins).

Each of the steps referred above will now be detailed in the following sections.
