LEPABE is a research unit operating in the fields of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto (FEUP). With a large majority of young researchers, LEPABE is focused on generating scientific knowledge through interdisciplinary research, and on establishing successful university–industry collaborations for effective technology transfer.

LEPABE Researchers accepted IUPAC's invitation to participate in Global Women Breakfast, that happened on February 12th on FEUP. This event took place at different universities in Portugal and worldwide. Watch the video.
This initiative emerged as part of the celebration of IUPAC's 100th anniversary and the International Year of the Periodic Table, that is celebrating 150 years of existence. More information here.

Sara Ramos and Filipe Rocha were awarded "Best Poster Presentation" at EMEC19

LEPABE PhD student Sara Ramos, supervised by Prof. Lúcia Santos and Dr. Vera Homem, and AGRONAUT project researcher Filipe Rocha, supervised by Dr. Vera Homem, were awarded Best Poster presentation with their works “Extraction Methodologies for UV-filters and Synthetic Musk Compounds from Soils and Tomatoes” and “Assessing the Levels of Siloxanes and Musks in Sewage Sludges for a Sustainable and Safe Use in Soils”, respectively. The prizes were awarded at the 19th European Meeting on Environmental Chemistry (EMEC19), held from 3rd to 6th of December 2018 in Royat, near Clermont-Ferrand, France.

LEPABE Senior Researcher participated in workshop about EU funds for Advanced Training

LEPABE Senior Researcher Fernando G. Martins was invited to be present at the round table debate about the contribution of European funds (FEEI) to Advanced Training, which was focused on financial support by the European Social Fund (FSE) for PhD and Post-doctoral fellowships and Doctoral programs, within the scope of QREN and Portugal 2020.
