SYSADVANCE was founded in 2002 and provides state-of-the-art solutions in Nitrogen, Oxygen, Ozone and Hydrogen on-site generation units for industrial applications. The company is also active in the areas of O2 and breathing air generators for medical applications as well as anesthesia gas recovery.
Advanced Cyclone Systems, S.A.
Advance Cyclone systems (ACS) was founded in 2008 by Romualdo Salcedo (CTO) - Professor and Researcher at LEPABE-FEUP and by Pedro Arújo (CEO), Industrial Engineer from FEUP and MBA from Lisbon University, under Cohitec program from COTEC Portugal, with financial support from Espírito Santo Ventures.
ACS is a company exclusively dedicated to the development and commercialization of high efficiency cyclone systems, worldwide. The company works in a very close cooperation with its clients in order to design custom made cyclone systems that really solve their unmet needs.
Apart from supplying cyclones, ACS has grown to be a turnkey project provider in any part of the world.
BioMode - Biomolecular Determination, S.A.
The company was founded in December 2010 as a result of the research work developed at the University of Minho and LEPABE by Prof. Nuno Azevedo and received financial support from the Inovcapital ACTec venture fund (Portugal Ventures), with mentoring provided by COTEC Portugal.
Biomode is an innovative company in the biotechnology field, where the core activities are focused in the research, development and the commercialization of rapid diagnostic kits based on Peptide Nucleic Acid FISH technology for microbial detection in food and clinical samples.
VisBlue ApS
VisBlue (formerly Fre3nergy) was founded in 2014 as a spin-off company of the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and University of Porto, based on an invention of Prof. Adélio Mendes (FEUP/LEPABE) and Anders Bentien (UAarhus). In late 2014 BOREAN Innovation (www.borean.dk) made an investment in VisBlue which ensured the development of a 3kW/10 kWh redox flow battery.
The company has its first battery installed at Realdania By & Byg in Copenhagen, Denmark's first zero-energy apartment building.
Amnis Pura
Amnis Pura, Lda was founded in 2018, by Dr. Paulo Ribeirinha, Prof. Adélio Mendes and Frederico Relvas. The first steps towards creating this company began in 2016, taking advantage of the know-how acquired in the context of EU-funded project "PEMbeyond".
The company designs and produce of tailored solutions for hydrogen production and purification for chemical and energy industries. The company is also involved in the areas of low temperature fuel cell systems.
