At UPORTO, we were very happy to have been part of this fantastic project to tackle youth unemployment across Europe. Read more about the final event below.

Earlier this month we headed to Santander, Spain, to join other partners in the launch of the ECOOPE good practice guide and associated toolkit.

The aim of the two-day conference, entitled: “Co-operative Entrepreneurship: a tool for a sustainable, viable future” was to:

  • Present the documents and tools that all partners on the project help create
  • Spread the benefits of the co-operative enterprise model

There were a number of inspiring stories presented over the two days, including a study of the Spanish province of Almería, identified as one of the poorest places in Europe in the 1960s. It was highlighted as a powerful example of resiliency, and demonstrates how co-operatives can have a truly transformational impact on individuals and their communites.
