DAIAS (former DAI&R)
is a Distributed AI and Agent-based Simulation (former "Distributed AI and
Robotics") Group (NIADSA in portuguese). It is hosted at the University
of Porto, Department of Informatics
Engineering, Faculty
of Engineering, and it is coordinated by Professor
Eugenio Oliveira. DAIAS (NIADSA) is also one of the groups belonging to LIACC

- Best Paper Award at ICAART 2017: João Marinheiro, Henrique Lopes Cardoso (2017). “A Generic Agent Architecture for Cooperative Multi-Agent Games”
- LIACC's team (P. Saleiro, E.Oliveira) in colaboration with other researchers (Eduarda M. Rodrigues) and C.Soares (Inesc Tec) got the 4th position (among 38 competitors) at SemEval-2017 Task 5: Fine-grained Sentiment Analysis on Financial Microblogs. SemEval is the International Workshop on Semantic Evaluation and will take place at ACL 2017 in August at Vancouver, Canada.
- A DRAFT REPORT of the European Parliament with recommendations to the Commission on Civil Law Rules on Robotics. This document includes a large number of ETHICAL and LEGAL recommendations for those doing research and engineering regarding both ROBOTICS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
- Work co-authored by Jorge Teixeira and Eugénio Oliveira from LIACC, together with two other co-authors was awarded with the BEST DEMO AWARD at ECIR 2016- 38th European Conference on Information Retrieval, Padova, Italy, 20-23 March, 2016.
