Project Description
ELECTRIC VEHICLES INTEGRATed INTO SMART GRIDS – INCREASING THE PENETRATION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN MODERN ELECTRIC GRIDS

“In this project it is proposed the study and development of intelligent electric vehicles subsystems – powertrain and stored energy management – and grid interfacing, considering the concepts of V2H (Vehicle-to-Home), H2V, G2V (Grid-to-Vehicle) and V2G modes. Also, it is proposed the development of research regarding the reaching of higher efficiency levels and increased reliability in converting electrical energy to mechanical (motoring) and vice-versa (generating) as well as in battery management systems and active balancing . This objective requires the development of high-performance electrical machines, namely switched reluctance ones, and the design of fast and powerful control and monitoring algorithms.
