DSIE'14 - Doctoral Symposium in Informatics Engineering

Submission deadline: December 20, 2013 Extended until January 1, 2014

The 9th Doctoral Symposium in Informatics Engineering 2014 (DSIE'14) continues the series of past workshops at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and will take place at FEUP on the 30th and 31st of January 2014.

Papers accepted and published in DSIE’14 will be available in the proceedings on the website. We invite PhD students to submit their contributions to DSIE'14 in order to share their insights and knowledge on their areas of expertise.

We are counting on you. Please submit your contribution.

Conference Topics

Submitted papers must follow the main themes proposed for the DSIE (the topics proposed in each theme constitute a mere framework reference; they are not intended as restrictive):

  • Virtual and Simulation Systems
  • Communication Networks
  • Security Systems
  • High-performance Computing
  • Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems
  • Information Systems
  • Software Engineering

Paper Submission

All submissions to the research track will be rigorously evaluated for novelty, significance, and soundness. Papers should clearly state the background, introduction, purpose, theory / issues, methodology, results, conclusions and managerial / industry / social implications of the study, and be fully referenced with appropriate citations.

All papers will be double-blind peer-reviewed by researchers who are members of the scientific review committee. Final acceptance will depend on whether the author(s) can adequately address review comments to the satisfaction of the reviewers.

All submissions, with no more than twelve pages, must be in PDF format, and comply with the official Springer LNCS template provided at:

Publication and Presentation

To ensure that the contribution is published in the Proceedings, at least one of the authors must be fully registered and the paper must comply with the suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended modifications must be addressed by the authors before they submit the final version.

Each of the accepted full papers authors will have at their disposal a maximum of 15 minutes to present their work during the Work Session, followed by approximately 5 minutes of discussion.
