What I am doing:

I am a PhD student in the Department of Electric and Computing Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University. My research subject is control of mixed continuous/discrete systems, also known as hibrid systems. From the several approaches to this area, I am particularly interested in impulsive control of stochastic systems, with a little game theory mixed in. The domain of applications that drives my work is mobile robotics. My supervisor if Professor Fernando Lobo Pereira.
Other related topics are robust control, Kalman filtering and optimal control.

I am also working at the Computer Center (CICA), being responsible for the issues that concern network security.

Last but not least, I am a member of the Portuguese team working in the AGMASCO project. This is a MAST III european project aiming at the development of an airborn gravimetry system. The first flights to test the system were already performed; the system proved to work fine.

MSc degree by the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, portugal, in 1994. Submitted thesis entitled "Planeamento Automatico do Movimento de Veiculos Roboticos Autonomos".
Degree in Electric and Cumputing Engineering by the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, in 1991.
Proficiency Certificate in English, in 1988.
