WELCOME PORT OF HONOUR, THE 17TH OF OCTOBER (included in the Registration Fee) The Welcome Port of Honour will take place at Casa da Música, a major concert hall space designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. This building was thought to be the place of all music’s, classic to electronic, jazz to the “fado”, of the international production to small project experimental. But what makes it so special is also its unique design, a kind of a rough diamond.
FAREWELL DINNER, THE 18TH OF OCTOBER (included in the Registration Fee) Invitation for the farewell dinner at Taylor’s Wine Lodge, in Vila Nova de Gaia district, located in the opposite bank of River Douro. For sure one of the best views over the old city. Reception with a guided visit to the wine cellars, aperitif and 3-course dinner served in private function room.
Social Tours not included in the Registration Fee
The House of Events has prepared two tours for the participants of VipIMAGE that are not included in the registration fee. To make your tour(s) reservation:click here. General Terms and Conditions: • Tours are subject to availability; • Each tour must have a minimum of 20 and maximum of 49 paying participants; • Quotations include all applicable taxes; • Cancellations until the 15th of September will be accepted and refund of 100% will be applied; • Cancellations after the 15th of September will not be refunded.
The 19th of October 2007 - PORTO A World Heritage Site By Unesco (Half Day with lunch)* The program starts with lunch at Ribeira quarter in one of the typical restaurants in front of the river side. After lunch invitation for a 50 minutes river cruise in Douro River, in the traditional Rabelo boats. The afternoon will continue with a guided visit to the Historic Centre classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, with visits to Palácio da Bolsa, the former Exchange Stock, and S. Francisco Church. The 20th of October 2007 - GUIMARÃES, Portugal’s “Birthplace” (Full Day) It is a must to visit the City of Guimarães, birthplace of the Portuguese nationality, whose historic centre was classified a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. The program features a guided pedestrian tour of the ruins of the castle, the XVIth century Ducal palace, time to stroll through the medieval streets and look for some antiques, bargain at traditional shops, enjoy a cup of coffee in the old squares. Wine tasting and aperitif on the terrace of the medieval square, followed by lunch at the Pousada de Nª. Sra. Da Oliveira – regional menu from Minho and fruity Vinho Verde. Arrival back in Porto at 4 pm. Price: € 75,00 / per person Includes transportation in 50 seat bus with English speaking tour guide, entrance fees at Ducal Palace, lunch at Pousada de Nª. Sra.
