The main objective of these ECCOMAS Thematic Conferences on Computational Vision and Medical Image Processing is to promote a comprehensive forum for discussion on the recent advances in the related fields trying to identify widespread areas of potential collaboration between researchers of different sciences.
In the Conference will be considered topics of (not limited to):
• Image Processing and Analysis
• Tracking and Analyze Objects in Images
• Segmentation of Objects in Images
• 3D Vision
• Signal Processing
• Data Interpolation, Registration, Acquisition and Compression
• Objects Simulation
• Virtual Reality
• Software Development for Image Processing and Analysis
• Computer Aided Diagnosis, Surgery, Therapy, and Treatment
• Computational Bioimaging and Visualization
• Telemedicine Systems and their Applications
The Conference will bring together several researchers from around the world representing several fields of study related to Computational Vision or Medical Image Processing. The expertise will span a broad range of techniques, such as finite element method, modal analyses, stochastic methods, principal components analyses, independent components analyses and distribution models.
VipIMAGE2007
The VipIMAGE2007 - I ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Computational Vision and Medical Image Processing was organized in Porto, Portugal, in October 2007, by the same organizer committee.
The challenge of organizing a scientific event on such focused subjects was a considerable success with 10 invited expertise lecturers, 44 oral presentations distributed by thirteen sessions and 20 posters in a total of 75 participants from sixteen countries (from Europe, Asia and America) representing academia, research institutes, medical centers and industry.
The proceedings book of VipIMAGE2007 was published by Taylor & Francis Group (ISBN: 9780415457774).
Additionally, it was prepared the publishing the book Advances in Computational Vision and Medical Image Processing:
Methods and Applications on the series: Computational Methods in Applied Sciences of SPRINGER (ISBN: 978-1-4020-9085-1), with invited works from the most important ones presented in VipIMAGE2007.
The publishing of a special issue of the International Journal for Computational Vision and Biomechanics (IJCV&B) dedicated to VipIMAGE2007 was also prepared. |
