TOUR OF THE DOURO VALLEY, A WINE EXPERIENCE
(From 15h to 23h)
The mystery of the landscape is the very spirit of the Douro region, an ecological sanctuary, where not only Port, but also some of the finest wines in the world have been produced for generations. UNESCO has recognised its cultural value and beautiful countryside as a matrix in these times of globalisation, designating the historic wine growing countryside “Douro Vinhateiro” as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity.

The program features comprehensive guided tours to the vineyards, Lagares (traditional wine-pressers) and lodges; introduction to the art of fine winemaking presented by the “Quinta” – Wine producing Estate - owner or wine-makers and the ultimate pleasures of fine dinning & wining with selected menu and wines that create a perfect match for each appetizer, starter, main course or dessert.

The month of September is when the harvest starts, and is the ideal time to visit Douro region. Is when the vines are replete in their golden and ruby fruits, and when the labour and happiness of harvest time bring forth that romance.
