Title of Project   Supply Chain Optimisation Project (SCOP)

Project Goals   Improve overall performance by achieving the following main objectives:
1)        Shorter and predictable lead times
2)        Improved on time delivery of food commodities in Country Offices
3)        Maximization of available resources
Summary of the proposed work:
Problem proposed   Currently, the SCOP is at the "upstream supply chain implementation stage" (WFP headquarters level) dealing with the process period from receipt of donor contribution until cargo (food) is loaded onboard ship to be delivered to the recipient country. This has concentrated on the streamlining of various HQ units' processes and introduction of several supply chain indicators and systems to support the performance measurement. Despite of its adoption, SCOP still faces several challenges that require to be analysed and resolved in order to achieve a stable improved supply chain performance.
