The scientific leader of the Unit for Numerical
Methods in Mechanics and Structural Engineering of IDMEC-Pólo FEUP is
Prof. Carlos Alberto da Conceição António since November
2006, elected after retirement of the previous scientific leader Prof. Rogério
Augusto Fernandes Martins.
The Unit has
an Executive Commission chosen by the members of Scientific Council of the Unit.
This commission is responsible for the management of the unit.
The unit is
organized by research areas as follows:
1. Analysis, Reliability
And Optimal Design Of Mechanical Structures;
2. Numerical simulation and optimization
of industrial forming and machining processes;
3. Development of other
numerical methods.
