The Flexible Time-Triggered (FTT) communication paradigm consists basically of a time-triggered model, synchronized by a master, but allowing complex online system updates with low latency (FTT = TT + Online scheduling). The unparallel level of operational flexibility provided by the FTT paradigm is particularly well suited to cope efficiently with applications that are inherently dynamic, such as: Systems with variable number of users, systems that operate in changing physical environments and systems that can self-reconfigure dynamically to cope with hazardous events or evolving functionality or requirements to improve availability or dependability in general. This project aims at continually advancing the FTT paradigm and its associated protocols, such FTT-SE over Ethernet.
